Private contractors busy in the task of towing away vehicles have been asked by the traffic police to highly exhibit the names of their agencies on roads and places from where they operate so that motor vehicle owners do not have a rough time locating their vehicles. Most of the auto towing companies offers many towing services like long distance towing, 24 hour towing etc.
The common matter is that around 50-60 challans are issued daily on MG Road, and cases of motor vehicle being towed away are quite familiar. These instructions were issued in a recent meeting like contractors will also have to show the name of police stations wherever the vehicles are taken to. At present there are approximately eight such vehicles which work for the traffic wing at different locations in the city.
